Problem

In the GitchAlerts alert editor, the right-side inspector's Content field can render the placeholder/helper text and the actual typed template text at the same time.

Observed on the Alerts editor page:

  • Route: /dashboard/gitchegumi-gaming/alerts
  • App version shown in the UI: v0.10.4
  • Layout selected: Tips / 1920 x 1080
  • Selected layer: Text 1
  • Content appears to contain template text like {{viewerName}} / {{message}}, but the placeholder text is still visible underneath or on top of it.

This makes the field hard to read and makes it unclear whether the user is editing the saved value, the placeholder, or both.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the Alerts editor.
  2. Select a text layer.
  3. Open the right inspector panel.
  4. Click into the Content textarea.
  5. Type or use a templated value such as:
{{viewerName}}
{{message}}

Actual behavior

The textarea visually shows both the placeholder/helper text and the typed content at the same time.

Expected behavior

The content field should behave like a normal textarea:

  • Placeholder text is visible only when the value is empty.
  • Once the field has a value, only the value is rendered.
  • Helper text such as Type / to insert event data should stay outside the editable field and should not overlap the textarea value.

Acceptance criteria

  • Inspector Content textarea does not visually overlay placeholder text and actual value text.
  • Placeholder is only visible when the content value is empty.
  • Existing saved template values still load correctly.
  • Typing, saving, reloading, and switching layers does not reintroduce the overlap.
  • Regression coverage is added for non-empty textarea content if practical.
