Description

Add the three planned worker systems to the RKE2 cluster and verify that the cluster can schedule ordinary workloads away from the control plane.

Scope

  • Join the Sager laptop, OptiPlex 5070, and media server as RKE2 agents.
  • Apply stable node names and initial role/workload labels.
  • Record hardware characteristics needed for later storage and GPU placement.
  • Verify basic multi-node scheduling and cluster health.

Acceptance criteria

  • All three workers report Ready with their expected roles.
  • Node labels identify the OptiPlex for game-server work and the media server for GPU work without prematurely fixing every scheduling policy.
  • A disposable test workload schedules successfully on worker nodes and not on the tainted control plane.
  • Node inventory and non-secret configuration are documented.
  • Cluster health remains stable after all workers join.
